28 September 2017
On Tuesday September 19th 7 students from Open Access College graduate at the annual Children’s University Graduation Ceremony at Bonython Hall.
The students have been involved in a variety of activities throughout the year including workshops at Libraries, completing trails, online challenges in Science, personal projects in sewing, caring for animals, volunteering at the Royal Show, completing walking trails, visiting galleries, listening to talks, participating in the Fringe activities, etc to gain hours in their passports.
This year OAC had 7 graduates. Each year we are increasing the number of students who participate in these out of hours programs and stretch their learning and involvement in community based activities.
Our Congratulations go to
· Jethro, Abraham and Mercy who all achieved 30 hours of Participation and received their National Bronze Award
· Keanu who completed 65 hours of learning activities and received his National Silver Award
· Harley who completed 130 hours of learning activities and received his National Gold Certificate
· Bree who completed 200 hours of learning activities and attained her National Gold Certificate. Unfortunately Bree was ill and could not attend the ceremony, but this is an outstanding number of hours to achieve.
All the students enjoyed the opportunity to receive their award dressed in their graduation gowns.
Julie and I were proud to acknowledge their learning and their excellent behaviour on the night.
We hope to have more students join the program next year.
