This seminar from Dr Helen Stallman discusses the building blocks for confidence and competence in children. She provides parents with strategies to teach these skills in their everyday interactions with their children.

Dr Helen Stallman is a Senior Lecturer at the University of South Australia and a member of the university’s Centre for Sleep Research. A Brisbane-born Clinical Psychologist, Dr Stallman is a specialist in child mental health, sleep and parenting. She has been involved in the development and evaluation of treatments aimed to improve mental health and wellbeing. These include a number of award-winning programs—Family Transitions Triple P (Positive Parenting after Separation and Divorce), the desk (https://www.thedesk.org.au), The Learning Thermometer, and On Track (https://www.ontrack.org.au). Dr Stallman’s published work includes 7 clinical programs, one book, two book chapters and 40 peer refereed papers.
